It is a subsidiary of property pioneer City Developments Limited - a listed international property and hotel conglomerate involved in real estate development and investment, hotel ownership and management, as well as the provision of hospitality solutions.

CBM has built its reputation for nearly 4 decades. It first started as Golden Mile Service Pte Ltd and was formed to provide engineering, cleaning and security services.

10 years later, it was renamed as City Building Management Pte Ltd and services such as Project Management, Car Park Operations and Management, and Managing Agent were added into its portfolio. Apart from Office, Commercial, Residential and Industrial sectors, in 2000, CBM has expanded into other industries such as, Government, Hospitality and Education.

Expanding beyond the shores of Singapore, CBM has tapped into local companies in the Middle East and set up offices in Abu Dhabi, UAE and Doha, Qatar. CBM-GISCO was established in 12 Mar 08 to respond to market demand in Abu Dhabi. A year after its first overseas subsidiary was set-up, CBM formed CBM-Afrina in 26 Aug 09 to cater to the expanding FM requirements in Doha.
